Phoenix Fitness :

How did you start off your fitness journey?

Sahil:

I started my fitness journey back in 2015 where I was a mere 18 year old guy who wanted to make a change in terms becoming fit and feeling more confident about myself. Honestly it paid off and i was proud of myself because I was able to transform into myself that I couldn’t imagine doing at one  stage. I was getting the respect and appreciation from my loved ones and from strangers as well which was an achievement for me. I was feeling proud of myself of what i achieved so i was basically living the life.

However there was a downfall eventually because I basically took that into my expectation that i will be able to maintain this physique but I was stalling in my gym routines and diet and eventually I came back to where i have started and if anything; I was much more heavier and fatter. I wasn’t proud of myself and I realised that if you want to put up the maintenance of your appearance, you have to put  in the work and keep it consistent. In 2018 I decided to make that change happen to get my physique back to where it was suppose to be; I started my transformation in 2018 as a way of a rebirth into transforming again and the rest is history after that.

Phoenix Fitness :

Did you invest in fitness equipment?

Sahil:

I was encouraged by my friends and family. My dad was a big inspiration because it was he who motivated me to get into the gym routines and build upon myself and gain confidence and become more alpha male. Having friends who encourage you into fitness is always a plus point because you got motivation throughout and support you every step of the way.

Phoenix Fitness

Have you ever tried working out at home and how did this work out for you?

Sahil:

I have definitely invested in some fitness equipment such as wrist straps, weight belt, knee pads etc. All of these equipment help in each manner in ensuring that I am able to be careful and not damage myself when I want go heavy in weight lifting because taking care of yourself is the most crucial point while trying to grow that you don’t do permanent damage that may cause you to regret any measures.

Phoenix Fitness :

Did you consider a personal trainer or workout plan?

Sahil:

Never had a personal trainer really because I felt I worked better on my own to make sure that I stay on track. I always looked up to fitness icons and youtube and google were my friends for me to research so I use that as my inspiration and motivation to keep me going. Workout plans definitely helped me as I had a plan to stick to get my habit going on and then after I settled in, I was able to to play around here and there with my own creativity and use my own workout routines to see what works best.

Phoenix Fitness :

Did you create clear and trackable goals?

Sahil:

I have a vision; basically where I see myself to look like and I give myself enough time to get there; let it be regarding if i have to attain a certain physique or a weight goal. Main thing is to have it clear that this is what I want to achieve in this much amount of time and I make sure to work on these goals no matter by hook or crook but eventually get there.

Phoenix Fitness :

Was Transformation ever tracked during your fitness journey, if so why do you think this is important?

Sahil:

I think transformation should always be tracked because it’s important to see how far you have come from where you started and compare yourself and appreciate the hard work you have put in. It’s also crucial whenever you feel let down or have lack of motivation too look back at these transformations and use that as a motivation to remember why you started as well so it’s definitely important.

Phoenix Fitness :

Did you ever leave focus to your fitness journey, if so what motivated you to get back on track?

Sahil:

As mentioned earlier I did  lose track eventually and it happens; happens to best of people and it’s okay to let it slide sometimes but eventually there is a stopping point where you realise that enough is enough; you have to get back in the gains train and work hard from how you had begun long time back. It’s hard mentally sometimes because you feel you can’t get there again but if you put in the effort and stay positive, the best will come out of you and you will be proud for what you have achieved.

Phoenix Fitness :

Which exercises do you find work best for you to achieve your overall goals?

Sahil:

I like to mix it up because I don’t want my body to get use to a certain routine because then you don’t improve or change because your body is use to it by now so it will maintain its way as its supposed to be. So I believe it’s crucial to mix it up in a way that you don’t get bored of the same routine as well as you don’t hit a certain plateau and you keep striving to attain a physique at any phase. I have done HIIT, cross-fit, bodybuilding, as well as different full body workouts to achieve the physique that I have right now.

Phoenix Fitness :

Are you happy with that you have achieved or are you wanting to do better? if so what are your next goals?

Sahil:

I definitely feel proud for sure because this cutting phase of mine as helped me lose about 48-50 lbs in such short amount of time and it’s amazing to see how much change can happen during this period if you put in the work. But being stubborn as I am; I’m definitely never satisfied because this is just a beginning and there’s always improvement to happen. I’m currently 182 lbs, 4 months ago I was about 230 lbs so now i’m looking to maintain my current weight and some of the goals will be in 2019 to build up again (lean bulk) that I can pack on some muscle because there are body parts that are lacking and need lot of improving so clearly lean bulk is my plan and then cut again steadily until I reach certain point where I will feel satisfied.

Phoenix Fitness :

Do you have any top tips to give to beginners who are starting off their fitness journey based on your experience?

Sahil:

I can say one thing and that is honestly; when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. If I can achieve what i have during the past few months then honestly anyone can and i’m just an ordinary guy who has a vision in my mind that I want to always improve myself and consider fitness being the part of a lifestyle that should never been taken for granted. Love yourself, improve yourself and live a life to the fullest because time flies and you want to make the best of every opportunity that you get. It’s never to late to begin, go out there and kill it! As the wisest person said; don’t go for success, go for excellence; success will come right behind you.
