New Joshua

 

Phoenix Fitness have kicked off 2019 with an inspirational campaign to aid those who have an interest in fitness but have not yet had the urge to get themselves going. 

We have gathered some of the Phoenix FitnessFam together to capture their first hand experiences to help you start your journey!  It's a new year and there can be a new you!  So get inspired and see the change you can make!

Phoenix Fitness :

How did you start off your fitness journey?

Joshua:

I’ve always been active since I was a little kid, doing all the sports I got from football, rugby all they to kickboxing. After a few injuries and being non active for a few months when I was of the age of 19 my mum ask me to go to the gym with her and after a few months and watching pumping iron a few times I knew I wanted to be a bodybuilder and get as big and lean as possible lol 😂

Phoenix Fitness :

At what stage in your life where you encouraged to get into fitness?

Joshua:

A Pt in the local commercial gym told me to go train at the bodybuilding gym where my journey really begun 💪🏻.

Phoenix Fitness :

Did you invest in fitness equipment?

Joshua:

I bought a spin bike to make 4am cardio easy during competition preparation.

Phoenix Fitness 

Have you ever tried working out at home and how did this work out for you?

Joshua:

Never - a gym with proper equipment is a must.

Phoenix Fitness :

Did you consider a personal trainer or workout plan?

Joshua:

I have a professional coach @trainedbyJP who plans my nutrition and workout plan.

Phoenix Fitness :

Did you create clear and trackable goals?

Joshua:

I have set all my goals for myself and discussed them with my coach to make them a reality.

Phoenix Fitness :

Was Transformation ever tracked during your fitness journey, if so why do you think this is important?

Joshua:

My transformation has been track through photos as I think it’s important to keep track of progress as it can show what worked and what hasn’t. Also pretty cool to show people your progress and with modern technology why not abuse was has been made loads of photos for all ;) 😂.

Phoenix Fitness :

Did you ever leave focus to your fitness journey, if so what motivated you to get back on track?

Joshua:

Never I’m focus and determined to make this my career and be the best in the world.

Phoenix Fitness :

Which exercises do you find work best for you to achieve your overall goals? 

Joshua:

Don’t think exercises selection it self is the major priority, it’s the intensity, volume and rest round the training which is very important for progression.

Phoenix Fitness :

Are you happy with that you have achieved or are you wanting to do better? if so what are your next goals?

Joshua:

I’m happy with the progress and being ranked 6th for junior bodybuilding in the U.K. , however I can always be better and until I’m pro and number 1 I will not be happy.

Phoenix Fitness :

Do you have any top tips to give to beginners who are starting off their fitness journey based on your experience? 

Joshua:

Enjoy it, don’t compete too early, eat your food and train as hard as you can. Also have proper rest days. And keep it gingerstyle ;)
