Check out @fitfinnuk transformation below, the image shows a transformation of 5 year years apart.

Finn:
I started properly when I moved to University. I think subconsciously the reason that I started was that I was sick of being the smallest/skinniest guy and wanted to just get a bit bigger and stronger.
I used to train here and there before I moved to uni and built a bit of a foundation but it was when I moved away from home that I properly focused on fitness.
I was encouraged slightly back in school as my mates were doing it but it was more when I realised that I actually wanted to do it for myself and for my own reasons and not for anyone else that I started taking it seriously.
When I started I invested in the standard usual stuff such as shakers and supplements etc. I also got an ab rollout and pull up bar to hook over my door.
Yes, whenever I have not been able to get to a gym I have just trained body weight exercises at home. It works well as I still get some sort of a workout in but it’s not the same as going to a gym.
Not when I started, however now I am a Personal Trainer and programme my own training.
Again, not at all when I started, for me it’s just getting in the gym and pushing yourself at the beginning and being sure to stick at that for long enough to see some progress.

Not until recently no, I really wish I had tracked it more and taken more photos along the way to look back at! I always tell clients now to take regular photos and measurements to ensure they can track progression and have something to look back on.
Phoenix Fitness :
No not really, I stopped in college as I couldn’t afford a membership but once I properly got into it I’ve not looked back.
I train each body part 2x per week focusing primarily on hypertrophy training and incorporate some strength training. I do cardio if I feel I need to, mainly just to feel fitter rather than to reduce body fat, I focus on that simply through my nutrition.
Always wanting to do better. My goals in the future are to have the best possible physique I can naturally, have my own gym and travel the world coaching clients online.
Finn:
Stick at it and find what works for you. So many people don’t see the results they want because they put everything into it and it’s not sustainable. Don’t try hit the gym 2x a day every day and eat nothing but chicken and spinach because you can’t sustain that. Find what works for you and what you can sustain and stick at it for long enough to see results.
Studies have shown that the primary adaptation tonresitance training within the first 8-12 weeks is your Central Nervous System adapting to the change. After that, the primary adaptation is hypertrophy (muscles increasing in size) so stay with it!
Focus on your nutrition, sounds so cliche but you can’t outtrain a bad diet.
And finally, learn your body, don’t go in the gym just chucking weight around, understand the movements of the body, how muscles contract and how to do so against resistance If you do this you will be able to achieve your ultimate goal. The below transformation image shows a 2 year transformation.
