Sophies daily dose of motivation

DAY 8

"THE JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES BEGINS WITH A STEP...

Check out @sophiieschoice fitness journey and see how Sophies keeps motivated.

Phoenix Fitness:

Overall as an individual do you consider yourself to be motivated when carrying out a task?

Sophie:

I do yes, although this has taken some time to develop. Before I started taking my training seriously, I would go to the gym and do a session at maybe only 40% of my maximum effort.

I was never really bothered about getting healthier enough to put much more in. However as I started getting into my training, I developed more of a passion for it, only then did the motivation follow.

Phoenix Fitness:

What do you require from yourself when working out?

Sophie:

A clear plan, for example a program I'm following. I struggle to have a good workout when I don't have something to follow! I find that my mind wanders and I can't seem to get my head in the game.

Phoenix Fitness:

What’s it worth to you to achieve a healthier, fitter, happier life?

Sophie:

Oh yes 100%. Not only from a physical perspective but from a mental one too. I think it's important to remind people that the want to become healthier shouldn't just be from an aesthetic perspective.

You should also work on your mental health too. The gym has helped a lot with my mental health.

Phoenix Fitness:

How do you find motivation to exercise on a daily basis?

Sophie:

Honestly I don't. Some days I'm so up for training and others I just want to sit in front of the TV with a pizza and a bottle of wine! It's hard to be motivated all the time and I think it's irresponsible as an influencer for us to portray that it is possible to be motivated 24/7/365.

Phoenix Fitness:

Have you ever lost focus from your routine? if so, how did you get back on track?

Sophie:

Yes many times. Mainly when I go on holiday to be honest. When I come back from my jollies, I look at my calories and macros and start tracking for a short period of time again. This just helps me to get my food back in check.

Phoenix Fitness:

What motivates you push yourself?

Sophie:

The goal of simply living a healthier and well balanced lifestyle.

Phoenix Fitness:

How do you make up for a missed workout?

Sophie:

I don't. I don't punish myself for missing a session. I accept it and move forwards. I can't change the fact I've missed one, nor should I punish myself either. Maybe my body needed a break or I was tired from work, either way rest is always good.

Phoenix Fitness:

How does missing a workout effect your goals?

Sophie:

I don't let it :-)

Phoenix Fitness:

Have you ever lacked motivation during your fitness journey? if so, how did this effect you?

Sophie:

Yes for sure. I once looked at myself in the mirror despite having lost just over a stone, thinking to myself that nothing has changed.

I look exactly as I did months ago, when in actual fact I didn't. Taking photos is a must when you're on a fitness journey so you can track progress.

The scales won't always say what you want them too, but pictures speak a thousand words.

Phoenix Fitness:

Do you have any motivation tips, quotes or stories to give to beginners who are starting off their fitness journey based on your experience?

Sophie:

Keep pushing forwards. Remember that those fitness influencers you follow on instagram were once where you are. Everyone starts somewhere and you should be proud of yourself for making the choice to change or start your journey.

It's a long road ahead and one in which you won't get results straight away. Ultimately living a healthier lifestyle and having goals to change your body all take time.

If you're struggling for motivation or need a pick me up, there are influencers out there like myself, who are always on their DM's so drop us a message!
